A Cooperative Approach

RE: A Cooperative Approach

A Great Announcement!

We are thrilled to have two part-time Assistant Directors of Religious Exploration this year!

Esther Rupert began her position as nursery and preschool coordinator on Aug. 1, 2006, and will alternate between the Spirit Play room and the Lower Elementary class.

Michael Springer came on board Sept. 8, 2006, and will teach in the Lower and Upper Elementary classes. Liz Teer assists weekly, alternating between Spirit Play and floating.

What We Need From You

You are an extremely important component in making this program successful!

•  Each family with a child enrolled in the program will be expected to assist 5 Sundays per year (just two Sundays a semester and one Sunday “on call” as a sub).

•  Bring your kids consistently . The heart of our RE program is community. With the reliable presence of our youth, we can make something great.

UUCC has chosen to use a cooperative model typical of many other churches with thriving RE programs. We believe that this approach provides more consistency for the children and helps parents stay connected.  Each classroom has a lead facilitator--parents and other volunteers will be utilized as assistants and floaters.

To make that volunteering experience positive and easy, you will not be expected to do any preparatory work . You only need to assist the leader or move among the classes to ensure the safety of all of the children. You may pick the dates most attractive to your schedule and the age group with which you are most comfortable.  We will try our best to accommodate those requests.
