WELLNESS TIP FOR THE HOLIDAYS

We know the only person we can change is ourselves. Recognizing our one part in our unhealthy interactions with family can help us become aware of what changes we can make to make the holidays better for us. One exercise is to make a list of situations we suspect might upset us, then write an healthy alternative way for us to react. While the outcome is out of our control, we can feel better about making positive changes in our own behavior. We all have faults and see our family members are individuals just like us can help us to be more tolerant, loveing and accepting of them.

Some tips are:

Exercise
Eat a healthy snack before going out for holiday meals so we aren't so hungry
Try to keep the conversation positive from our part
Breathe, take deep breaths and exhale fully
Make a mental list of what you like about others instead of focusing on their faults
Have a sense of gratitude for what you do have
If alone, venture out to volunteer for those less fortunate, or invite some else you know
who might be alone to eat out or come over.

Blessings to you and yours this Holiday Season!
